Sony has officially confirmed the free Essential games offered by PlayStation Plus to all members in November 2026, and you’ll want to mark your calendar to claim these titles. Unlike the additions to the catalog, the Essential games are free titles that are offered to all members, as they are a benefit that affects the lowest subscription tier all the way to the top. Instead of having limited access to them while they are in the catalog, players can actually redeem the free Essential games with PlayStation Plus and add them permanently to their library.

These games can then be downloaded and played at any time, as long as the player remains subscribed to PlayStation Plus, regardless of their tier. Now, Sony has revealed which free games members will be able to grab throughout the month of November. According to an official post on PlayStation Blog, members will be able to claim three games: Dead Island 2, Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered, and Monster Train 2. Considering that the second one mentioned is a collection of three games, members will actually be getting five free games in total.

All three games must be redeemed and added to your account by November 30. If they are not, access to the games is then lost, as the gimmick here is redeeming the titles as a PS Plus member and then downloading them from your library whenever you wish. Access to these games begins on November 3. Dead Island 2 is the latest entry in the iconic zombie RPG series, letting you survive in an open-world recreation of Los Angeles.

Meanwhile, Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered is a collection of three iconic games that compose the Darkness Trilogy in Lara Croft’s series. For reference, it contains Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation, Tomb Raider: Chronicles, and Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness. Lastly, Monster Train 2 is a single-player deckbuilding roguelite that will have you command angels and demons, who fight together against titans.

Apart from the monthly free games for all members, there have also been a few official PS Plus updates for November, specifically regarding the titles that are leaving the catalog next month. The service will take some heavy hits, as both Red Dead Redemption 2 and Grand Theft Auto 5 are expected to be removed by November 17 – certainly a move by Rockstar Games, pushing players to go play GTA 6, which will be released on November 19. The update has also revealed that 10 additional games will be removed by November 17.

This will make it a period of heavy losses, even if new titles are added to the catalog throughout the month. At the same time, November will be one of the busiest months for gaming this year, as it will see the release of the Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake for Nintendo Switch 2, as well as the aforementioned GTA 6. Even so, this may be offset by a few hits to PlayStation Plus, despite the new free Essential games that members will be able to pick up.
