Warning! This post contains major spoilers for Avatar: Seven Havens season 1, episodes 10-13.

The last four episodes of Avatar: Seven Havens season 1 answered many questions about Pavi and Nisha's past, the Anomaly's true origin (hint: it isn't The Legend of Korra's dark spirit, Vaatu), and where the twin Avatars are headed in the upcoming second season. Some mysteries are still unsolved, including Avatar Korra's role in the so-called Cataclysm and why there are two Avatars instead of one. Still, since the show is confirmed for not one but three additional seasons, Pavi and Nisha have plenty of time to learn what happened to the former Avatar.

Avatar: Seven Havens' decision to release the last four episodes of season 1 all at once makes sense. After Nisha was forced to reveal her status as the Avatar during the Chancellor's ill-fated symposium, all hell broke loose. Episode 10, "Ghosts and Spirits," starts two weeks later, with Pavi and Nisha separated on opposite sides of the city, desperate to find their way back to each other. Karthik and his fellow White Lotus members are still in prison, while Jae tries to figure out how to help them.

In episode 11, "Battle of the Ruins," Chancellor Kayoko wants to use the Anomaly's dark power to trap the Faceless and the Avatar by forcing the energy out of the city; her plan works, though in episode 12, "The Dome," it only leads to more devastation.

The story culminates in an action-packed finale in episode 13, "The Root Chakra," as Pavi and Nisha try to save Ellora from a spiritual dome of dark energy formed by the Anomaly. The Chancellor is now afflicted, and the Faceless and the Elloran bender brigade team up to evacuate the city and protect the Avatar. In the end, after having learned the devastating truth about their parents, Pavi and Nisha go their separate ways, setting up Avatar: Seven Havens season 2.

Though Nisha holds back the advancing dome for a short time in episode 12, Chancellor Kayoko pulls her away, breaking her focus and unleashing the Anomaly's power. In episode 13, Pavi and Nisha are sucked into the dome, which brings them back into the "memory void," giving them another glimpse of their past. This time, though, it's a full flashback. Nisha doesn't want Pavi to see what's about to happen, but Pavi insists, and they watch their parents, Pramodh and Saumya, take Pavi and leave Nisha alone at home in the middle of the night for Karthik to find.

Past Nisha wakes up and chases them through the Harshlands. Pavi is distraught at the thought of leaving Nisha behind, but their father keeps them away from each other, saying, "I won't let her destroy our family!" Driven by fear, Nisha draws in immense spiritual power, inadvertently creating the Anomaly.

As it turns out, the Anomaly is a manifestation of Nisha's pain. That's why it was drawn to the twins and able to show them their past selves; it feeds off Nisha's trauma. As executive producer and writer Sehaj Sethi told GamesRadar+, "[The Anomaly] is her fear of abandonment, and that is something that's really core to Nisha. That idea of not being accepted is really, really hard for her."

The Anomaly's energy bolts strike a nearby cliff, causing it to crumble and collapse. Though their bodies are never shown, it's implied that Nisha and Pavi's parents are trapped beneath the rock slide; it's unlikely they survived. Pavi's leg is caught beneath a rock, though a mysterious green glow surrounds her, and it heals instantly. It's never fully explained why Pavi and Nisha lost their memories, though it's likely that it was a psychological response to their shared trauma, or even a result of their blocked chakras.

The present-day Pavi says to Nisha, "You are what happened to them. They were scared of you." They fight and are released from the memory, forced to face the Anomaly in Ellora once again.

Pavi Faces Her Fears To Take Down The Anomaly

While Nisha's season 1 story is defined by her fear of abandonment, Pavi's story ends with her finally letting go of that fear. Facing the Anomaly, she wholeheartedly embraces being the Avatar, finally showing her true nature to the entirety of Ellora. "My whole life I've lived in fear. Scared of what I really am. I know I can survive." No longer afraid, the Anomaly has no power over her, and Pavi energybends, redirecting its energy into the sky. The dome shrinks, saving the city from destruction.

After her victory, Pavi wakes up in the cosmic void. Surprisingly, she sees the spirits of past Avatars, including Kyoshi, Roku, Aang, and even Korra, who appear as constellations. Pavi remarks that Korra doesn't look so scary, and the former Avatar shows Pavi that the first of her seven chakras, the root chakra, is now unblocked because she's let go of her fear. As Faceless leader Agam and Avatar: The Last Airbender explained, all seven chakras need to be open for energy to flow freely through the body and for an Avatar to control the Avatar State.

Importantly, the chakras need to be opened in a specific order, or a person's energy can't flow through the body properly. The second chakra shows Pavi a vision of another Haven, a coastal city called the Floating Isles, which sets up her upcoming story in Avatar: Seven Havens season 2. Korra doesn't speak, but their connection means there's a chance Pavi will one day be able to communicate directly with Korra and find out what really happened during the Cataclysm.

How The Finale Sets Up Avatar: Seven Havens Season 2

When Pavi returns from the Spirit World, she reunites with Nisha, but their relationship has taken a dark turn. "I won't be a destroyer like you," Nisha tells her sister. "I'll be a better Avatar." Pavi even goes so far as to take Nisha's mother stone, the only memento they still have from their parents, before jumping on Geet and running away.

It's Nisha's worst fear come true, as she's once again abandoned by her family. Thankfully, though, she's not entirely alone. While Jae goes after Pavi, Karthik stays with Nisha and tells her he's proud of her. Pavi may have destroyed the Anomaly in the end, but Nisha's earlier effort to hold back the growing dome gave the people of Ellora more time to flee the city.

In the finale's concluding montage, Karthik even presents Nisha to the people of Ellora, who cheer her on as their savior. Hopefully, that will help Nisha overcome her fear of being the Avatar, though she'll still have to deal with her trauma and guilt for creating the Anomaly in the first place.

Meanwhile, Jae finds Pavi just outside the city walls, planning to make the trek to the Floating Isles. Rather than forcing her to come back, Jae (fresh from his breakup with Datu) decides to join her. It's a major step for someone once so loyal to Ellora's survival and the bending brigade. Long before anyone else, he saw past the fearmongering and hate and befriended Pavi (and Nisha). "You're the key to fixing this world. And I'll be by your side the whole way," he tells Pavi, just before they head out on their journey.

It seems Avatar: Seven Havens Book Two will be split between Ellora and the Floating Isles, as Pavi and Nisha walk their own paths to unlock their full Avatar powers. Though Ellora has now seen that the Avatar isn't a destroyer, it may take Pavi time to convince the Floating Isles she's there to help, and all the while, she'll need to figure out how to free her second chakra.

Whether Pavi and Nisha will reunite in Avatar: Seven Havens season 2 or later in the series remains to be seen. In any case, it promises to be a much bigger adventure, introducing more Havens (representative of each chakra) and letting Pavi and Nisha grow without each other to lean on.
