Shia LaBeouf and Mia Goth Privately Broke Up After 9 Years of Marriage

Shia LaBeouf and Mia Goth are entering a new chapter.

The Odyssey actress filed for divorced from the Holes star on Oct. 6 after nearly a decade of marriage, according to court documents obtained by E! News.

Goth, who shares 4-year-old daughter Isabel with LaBeouf, submitted her request just days before their 10th wedding anniversary, per the docs, citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split. However, their date of separation was listed as July 28, 2025.

In the petition, Goth—who wed the Transformers actor in 2016—asked for primary legal and physical custody of their daughter, also requesting to terminate the court's ability to award her or LaBeouf spousal support.

E! News has reached out to representatives for both Goth and LaBeouf but have not yet heard back.

In February, multiple outlets reported that the Fury actor and Pearl star—who've been in an on-off relationship since 2012—had privately separated months prior. That same month, LaBeouf spoke out about the part he played in the dissolution of their relationship.

“You got to deal with that and God puts that on your heart for a reason,” LaBeouf, 40, shared on the Feb. 28 episode of Channel 5 with Andrew Callaghan. “And I feel like it’s not new heartbreak. I don’t want to talk too much about it. It’s not my story alone to tell but my side is, you know, I failed my marriage, and so I had to own up to that.”

Though Goth, 32, has yet to publicly address their split, she’s shared insight into how Isabel has changed their lives for the better.

"It's a really psychedelic experience to have a child," she told Elle in an interview published in October 2025. "You're parenting her, but you're also parenting the version of you that existed when you were that age."

"The amount of love that you can feel," Goth continued, "she's the greatest gift of my life."

That’s why the Frankenstein actress takes special care when it comes to the projects she signs on for.

“I have to be able to justify being away from my daughter for that many hours a day,” she told i-D in an interview published Sept. 17. “And you only can if what you’re making is meaningful.”

And when she’s not in front of the camera, the London-native shared her hopes to give her little one a simpler life as they enter their next chapter.

“My daughter loves horses,” she said, “and if I was to be here in London, it would upset me that I would block that curiosity of hers.”
