MANILA, Philippines — The Land Transportation Office (LTO) on Wednesday said it imposed a two-year revocation of the driver’s license of an actor who was involved in an accident along Marcos Highway, Antipolo City, Rizal.

The actor reportedly lost control of the vehicle after he experienced severe fatigue, which led to him crashing into three establishments, according to the agency. It did not name the actor involved in the incident.

The individual was found liable for Reckless Driving and was declared “improper person to operate a motor vehicle.”

“Seryoso ang LTO sa pagpapatupad ng batas-trapiko, lalo na sa mga paglabag na maaaring magdulot ng panganib sa ibang gumagamit ng kalsada. Ipatutupad natin ang kaukulang kaparusahan batay sa resulta ng imbestigasyon at pagdinig, anuman ang katayuan ng sangkot,” LTO chief Asec. Markus Lacanilao said in a statement.

(“The LTO is serious about enforcing traffic laws, especially regarding violations that could pose a danger to other road users. We will impose the appropriate penalties based on the results of the investigation and hearing, regardless of the status of the individuals involved.”)

The actor’s vehicle remained under alarm status to ensure the enforcement of the imposed penalty and prevent it from engaging in any activities while the resolution remains in effect.

The LTO advised the public to practice responsible driving to prevent accidents that may cause loss of life or damage to property. /cb
