Mad Cave Studios' imprint Nakama Press announced on Thursday that it has licensed Uoto's 100 Meters (Hyakuemu) manga, and will release the first two volumes in 2027. Nakama Press will release the manga's first volume on February 17 and the second volume on April 27. Additionally, Nakama Press licensed Buichi Terasawa's Goku - Midnight Eye manga, and will release the first volume on March 2. Nakama Press also confirmed with ANN that the new release date for Samurai Pizz a Cats, a new 200-page middle-grade comic inspired by the Samurai Pizz a Cats (Kyatto-Ninden Teyandee) anime, is December 8. Nakama Press describes 100 Meters manga's story:

In 100 Meters, Togashi, a naturally gifted sprinter, has always outrun everything around him—until he meets a rival who challenges not just his speed, but his understanding of what it means to win. As their paths continue to cross from childhood into adolescence, what begins as a simple race evolves into an intense, psychological rivalry. Driven by talent, obsession, and the desire to prove themselves, both runners are pushed to their limits both on and off the track.

Uoto (Orb: On the Movements of the Earth) launched the manga in Kodansha's Magazine Pocket app in November 2018 as Uoto's first series, and Kodansha published the manga's fifth and final compiled book volume digitally in October 2019.

The manga's anime film adaptation premiered in Japan in September 2025. The film ranked #8 in its opening weekend, and earned 102,666,040 yen (about US$694,700) in its first three days. GKIDS screened the film in October 2025 in Japanese with English subtitles and with an English dub. The film also screened in Los Angeles that October. The film won the runner-up award for Best Animated Film at the Florida Film Critics Circle Awards in 2025. Netflix began streaming the film with Japanese audio and English subtitles in December 2025.

Nakama Press describes Goku - Midnight Eye's story:

After a brutal attack leaves him with a cybernetic eye, private investigator Goku gains the ability to hack any system with a glance. But in a world of high-tech crime and shadowy conspiracies, every answer comes at a cost—and the deeper he looks, the more dangerous the truth becomes.

Goku, a hard-boiled private investigator in a near-future Tokyo where crime, corruption, and advanced technology collide, gains a powerful cybernetic eye that allows him to interface directly with computers. After a near-fatal encounter, he gains an edge in a world where information is the ultimate weapon. As he takes on dangerous cases that blur the line between human and machine, Goku is drawn deeper into a conspiracy that threatens to reshape the city itself.

Terasawa's three-volume manga originally launched in 1987. Yoshiaki Kawajiri directed the manga's anime adaptation at Madhouse, and Terasawa and Ryūzō Nakanishi wrote the script. The OVA released in 1989 and a sequel also released in 1989. Discotek released both OVAs on DVD in 2017. Discotek then released Goku - Midnight Eye on Blu-ray Disc under the title Midnight Eye Goku in 2023. The release marked the first Blu-ray Disc release of the OVA anywhere in the world. The release included two dubs: one from Urban Vision and one from Manga UK.
