U-20 WWC: We Still Have Some Lapses —Aduku Admits Despite Falconets’ 10-1 Win Over New Caledonia

Falconets head coach Moses Aduku has admitted that there are still some lapses his team needs to work on despite their 10-1 win against New Caledonia.

The Falconets booked their place in the round of 16 thanks to their dominant win over the debutants.

After securing one point in their opening two group games (2-0 loss to Spain, 0-0 draw with China), the Falconets hammered the Oceania team to progress into the knockout round.

Despite the dominant win, Aduku believes there are lapses that needs to be addressed, noting the tournament has just started for them.

“For us the World Cup is just starting, we thank God for the 10 goals and for qualifying for the next round but like I said for us the World Cup is just starting,” Aduku said.

“We thank God but this one (win against New Caledonia) is done and dusted we look forward to the next game. We had some lapses despite the win but we will go back and take care of it.”

The Falconets will be back in action on Thursday, September 17, when they will take on England in the round of 16.

The Junior Three Lionesses finished second in four points in Group B behind Brazil.

After opening their campaign with a 1-1 draw with Canada, England thrashed Tanzania 5-1 before losing 2-1 to Brazil.
