Officials from Israel and Lebanon held a meeting at the US Central Command (CENTCOM) headquarters in Tampa, Florida, two IDF sources confirmed to The Jerusalem Post on Tuesday.

The MacDill Air Force Base meeting aimed to continue the implementation of the US-brokered framework agreement, which includes the disarmament of the Iran-backed Hezbollah terrorist organization, sources told the Post.

Lebanese outlet Beirut Wire reported on Monday that Lebanon was preparing a delegation for the talks, which are expected to extend into Wednesday.

The report emphasized that the talks are not peace negotiations, with the agenda being security rather than normalization.

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun confirmed Lebanon's participation in the talks on Monday, according to the report, noting that Lebanon's demands include an end to Israel's operations in southern Lebanon, where the IDF has been engaging with Hezbollah, and the Israeli military's withdrawal from the country.

Before the Florida talks, Israel and Lebanon held earlier rounds of negotiations in Washington and Rome.
