A few weeks ago, Upasana Singh had made some allegations over the ongoing CINTAA (Cine and TV Artistes’ Association) management issue. She alleged that Poonam Dhillon and Padmini Kolhapure were involved in a case where one of the organization’s FDs (fixed deposit), which had been frozen, was accessed.
Similarly, actress Nagma had also expressed concerns over the matter. Now, Dhillon, who currently serves as CINTAA’s president, has shared her response to the ongoing allegations regarding the FDs worth Rs 90 lakhs.
Poonam Dhillon responds to CINTAA Rs 90 lakhs FD allegations
While in conversation with IANS, Dhillon stated that all of the organization’s expenses were accounted for and that their financial records are also accessible to all of its executive committee members, ensuring complete transparency in the matter.
She added, “They thought they would close all our funds and make it difficult for us since our committee was working on something. We haven't been working for ourselves.
It's not like Poonam Dhillon, Padmini Kolhapuri, or anyone else has taken a single rupee from the CINTAA account. All the money that has been spent is accountable. Every penny is accountable. And we give those accounts every month.”Dhillon also mentioned that the September numbers have also been shared with all of the committee members and that there has been absolute transparency in the matter, which also includes the alleged FDs that Upasana had mentioned.
“No one has hidden anything. The accounts are always given to every member of the EC. It is kept on our website. And anyone can see it,” she said.
Poonam Dhillon also talks about the managerial allegations about CINTAA and its internal staff
The organization has also been under fire recently with regard to its management issues. Upasana also opened up about how the operations within the firm have turned "dictatorial." Dhillon also addressed these ongoing allegations and mentioned that the association's decision-making process and constitutional amendments are made during the Annual General Meeting.
She also mentioned that a due and legal process is followed for such things to be implemented."How can we not do what we want? Our AGM takes every decision. Resolution is passed. After the resolution is passed, a change is brought in our constitution. That constitution goes to the registrar. We are answerable to the registrar of our labor. He stamps it. Only then can there be a change. This decision was taken in the AGM of 2025.
Upasana Singh was the secretary. She was the one who stood up and announced it," she said.
What did Upasana Singh and Nagma say about the CINTAA issue, Poonam Dhillon, and Padmini Kolhapure?
In the beginning of the month, while talking to IANS, the ‘Judaai’ actress had stated, “We have FDs in five banks and accounts in five banks. When our committee was dissolved, Deepak Parashar was the treasurer. So, we informed all the banks that the committee had been dissolved. We told them that when a new committee comes, whoever takes charge, the accounts can be opened.
Until then, they should remain frozen.”Nagma had also expressed concerns over the matter and talked about the same while talking to the outlet. Talking about her concerns, she shared, “But this money is for the artists. How can they misuse it? They have opened a new account, but what is the point of opening a new account? What I mean to say is that the court has given a hearing date of October 26. So, how much time is left until October 26? We should wait for it.
Whatever decision comes from the court, we will have to abide by it.
Even if the decision does not come in our favor, we will accept it. Till then, what is the need to break open the office and just sit inside? What kind of work is going on? After breaking a fixed deposit, you are using that money to pay salaries.”As of right now, Padmini Kolhapure, who was also named in the allegations, has not issued any statement regarding the ongoing issue and allegations. Other than that, both Padmini Kolhapuri and Poonam Dhillon won the CINTAA executive committee elections, which were held on Tuesday. Most votes were given to Kolhapuri, who polled 604 votes; Dhillon, 601; and Rakesh Bedi, 575.
