Final Fantasy 9: Integrity Officially Arrives This Month For 25th Anniversary

Translate

Known as 'Cyberpunk 2077's' biggest fan, Angharad is a Welsh games writer who thrives in anything related to digital storytelling. If a video game explores the intricacies and horrors of womanhood, she is there.

Thanks to previous work at GAMINGbible, GameByte, The Loadout, Game Luster, Angharad has built a strong understanding of both the digital world and what fans want from it and is eager to share her thoughts and expertise with readers.

It may have first been released way back in 2000, but Final Fantasy IX still remains a fan favorite. So much so, that an animated television series by Square Enix and Cyber Group Studios is currently in development, allowing fans to revisit the action as part of a never-seen-before experience. However, whilst we wait for the series to finally hit our screens, after first being announced back in 2021, there is another exciting Final Fantasy IX-related release on the way.

Final Fantasy 9: Integrity Is A Must-Have For Fans

With Final Fantasy IX being considered one of the greatest video games of all time, it is no wonder that Square Enix wanted to cash in on its 25th anniversary, which fans celebrated last year. Now, it may be a year later, but one highly anticipated release is finally set to arrive this month, and as official merchandise, it is a must-buy for Final Fantasy's biggest fans.

Final Fantasy: Integrity is a 1000-piece jigsaw puzzle created to commemorate Final Fantasy IX's 25th anniversary. Featuring a stunning key visual, the jigsaw is available for pre-order on the official Square Enix Store ahead of its launch later this month. As a 1,000-piece jigsaw, it will definitely see you sink away a few hours as you remember some of the most iconic moments from the 2000 classic.

Coming in at £32.99, this official merchandise also asks for a respectable price, but you will be pleased to learn that Integrity is not the only jigsaw puzzle available.

Many Designs To Choose From

The Final Fantasy 9 Reclusion jigsaw puzzle.

As well as the Integrity design, there is also Denouement and Reclusion up for grabs, each offering a key visual from Final Fantasy IX. Both also include 1,000 pieces and coming in at the same cost, they will make for the perfect gift ahead of the Christmas period, but until customers get their hands on them, you will have to wait and see how the reviews turn out.

However, over on r/FinalFantasy, some fans believe that this brand-new merchandise could hint at a potential remaster or remake, and they took to the comments to share their thoughts. "With all these FFIX promotions, I'm convinced they are working on a FFIX remake/remaster, but the announcement was delayed and SE are contractually obligated to continue the promotions. It's similar to when Halo Infinite was delayed by a year, but all the promotions continued anyway despite the game not releasing."

Another said, "That's exactly the level of fidelity they should aim for. Nobody needs a three-part, 15-year, eight billion dollar compilation project for an FFIX remake. But a nice AA update with modern quality of life improvements would be perfect."

At the time of writing, it remains to be seen if a Final Fantasy IX remake or remaster is currently on the cards, but until then, you can at least get your hands on some stunning new merchandise in the meantime.
