Bintan deports Chinese national for immigration violations

Bintan, Riau Islands (ANTARA) - Bintan Immigration Office in Riau Islands Province has deported a Chinese national identified as FB for violating the terms of his stay permit in Bintan District.
“Immigration intelligence and enforcement officers found evidence that the foreign national engaged in activities inconsistent with his stay permit,” Bintan Immigration Office Head Adi Hari Pianto said here Wednesday.
FB was found overseeing construction work at a tourist area in Bintan, Adi said.
The case followed surveillance and intensive questioning by the office’s intelligence and enforcement team that began on October 6, 2026, he said.
The investigation found discrepancies between FB’s statements and the facts on the ground. FB had provided false information and engaged in activities that violated his stay permit.
Authorities took action under Article 123(a) of Law No. 6 of 2011 on Immigration, Adi said.
He stressed that immigration officials would not tolerate foreign nationals who disregard Indonesian laws and regulations.
FB was deported on Monday, October 12, 2026, at 5:35 p.m. local time via Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on a Hainan Airlines flight to Haikou, China.
FB has also been placed on an immigration blacklist, barring him from re-entering Indonesia for a specified period under applicable laws, Adi said.
The Bintan Immigration Office urged residents and businesses to help monitor foreign nationals’ compliance with immigration rules in their communities and workplaces.
Anyone who suspects immigration violations or suspicious activities by foreign nationals should report them to an immigration office or through official immigration complaint channels, the office said.
