Tony Iommi Awarded Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) at Windsor Castle

Black Sabbath legend Tony Iommi was awarded the prestigious Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) at Windsor Castle in England on Wednesday.

The metal godfather posted a photo of himself holding up his official MBE badge in front of Windsor Castle. An MBE is the third-highest ranking civilian and military level of the Order of the British Empire, and is awarded for “achievement or service in and to the community which is outstanding in its field and has delivered sustained and real impact which stands out as an example to others.”

Iommi received the honor on the same day he released the new single “Stormwatcher” off his upcoming solo album, From the Dark, set for release on October 23rd. See the photo of Iommi at Windsor Castle below.
