Danny Dyer's "amazing" comeback movie has just been added to Netflix

Translate

Danny Dyer's comeback movie Marching Powder has been added to Netflix. Originally released last year, the film sees the former EastEnders actor play a football hooligan called Jack who is arrested and given a few weeks to turn his life around.

If not, he could spend a lengthy spell in prison, so Jack must prove to the authorities that he can stay on the straight and narrow, as well as his wife. However, the lure of cocaine isn't far.

Marching Powder is now available to stream on Netflix after being added to the service today – so be sure to check it out.

The movie marked Dyer's first movie role in a decade when it was released, having last appeared in 2015's Assassin. In the meantime, he had been busy on EastEnders as Mick Carter, a role he departed in 2022, as well as various other TV projects.

The film comes from Nick Love, who has worked with Dyer in the past on the likes of The Football Factory, The Business and Outlaw.

Marching Powder was called an "amazing film" by one fan on IMDb, who added: "When I started watching it I got a nostalgic tingle from the early noughties, Football Factory and Green Street but it gives a bigger nod to Trainspotting."

"Danny Dyer does well here," another added. "It's a part which suits his established persona, to be sure, but his line delivery works, especially when he is making sly, confidential asides directly to camera. This film has heart - tentative, awkward, and tied together at the ankles - and a bit of social awareness."

A third labelled it "excellent", further sharing: "Overall I would recommend this film, it could be watched more than once, it may even become a memorable film because it has a slightly unique feel to it. Enjoy!"

Dyer has most recently been seen in season two of Rivals, as well as Nobody's Fool and The Dyers' Caravan Park.

Marching Powder is streaming now on Netflix.
