With The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct coming later today, we're mere moments from possibly learning the official release date for the remake. Ever since it's announcement back in June, anticipation for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake has been at an all-time high. Fans were, of course, expecting a remake long before the announcement, but getting that confirmation was sweet satisfaction to fans of the beloved Zelda franchise.

Up until now, Nintendo have been incredibly tight-lipped about The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake, and we've had little more than a brief cinematic with Brian Cox doing the voice-over work. That said though, we have learned something ahead of time. Shared on X earlier today, the Australian Nintendo Store seems to have leaked the price of the game a tad bit early. Nothing as yet has popped up on the eStore, but in Australia, the game will launch for a discounted $94.95 AUD, with the full price listed as $109.95 AUD.

With these Australian prices in mind, we can pretty much work out what the asking price in other countries will be at launch. For our UK friends, it will most likely be £49.99 and for those in the US, it will be $59.99. Not hugely surprising, although many were hoping for a lower price as it's a remake of an old N64 game. These, of course, are digital prices only, so physical copies may cost more. This has led to many commentors on X guessing what the price in their country might be.

One such commentor wrote:

Will probably be 59.99 at Walmart and Amazon for physical.

And:

remember everyone that digital eshop prices are $10 less than what the physical games are, so they might be intending this game to be the scale of a $70 game

While another was just happy to be getting the game and willing to pay more:

Wow. I expected $80. This would be great. I’d buy a $100 special edition if they made it tbh

Beside the price leak, we still have precious little information about The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Will it be a faithful 1to1 remake or take creative chances and perhaps feature additional content or new gameplay mechanics? With the Nintendo Direct almost upon us, hopefully all our The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of TIme remake questions will be answered. And with the regular Nintendo Direct following tomorrow, perhaps we are in for a few more treats to finish out 2026. More N64 classics getting new leases on life perhaps? One can only hope

No doubt we'll get an official release date for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake later today, but we're also hoping to see as much content and gameplay from the game as possible. Getting glimpses of Link and Epona galloping across Hyrule Field on modern hardware feels like a dream come true, and hopefully it's mere moments away from being a reality. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of TIme remake will be revealed at a special Nintendo Direct at 10am ET or 4pm CEST later today.
