Kenya Power Announces Friday Outages in Nairobi, Nandi, Kakamega, Migori and Nyeri Counties

Kenya Power has announced planned electricity interruptions in parts of Nairobi, Nandi, Kakamega and Migori counties, as well as several areas in Nyeri County, on Friday, October 23, 2026.

The planned outages, scheduled to run between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., will affect residential estates, roads, markets, hospitals, schools and other facilities as the utility undertakes maintenance work.

Customers in the affected areas have been advised to plan accordingly as electricity supply will be interrupted during the scheduled periods.

Nairobi Region

Part of Argwings Kodhek Road

Electricity will be interrupted from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in parts of Argwings Kodhek Road, Ralph Bunche Road, Nelson Awour Centre, Nairobi Hospital, Landmark Plaza, Kwetu Hostels, Hurlingham Shopping Centre, Woodlands Road, part of Jabavu Lane, Lee Funeral Home, Upperhill Medical Hospital, University of Nairobi Dental School, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th Ngong Avenue, The Chancery Building, Bishops Road, Sarova Panafric Hotel, Fairview Hotel and adjacent customers.

Pangani

Parts of Pangani will experience an outage from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The affected areas are Forest Road, Chai Road, Pamba Road and adjacent customers.

Githurai

Power will be unavailable from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Githurai 45, Mt. Kenya, Siloam, PEFA, Progressive, Kimbo, Claycity and Farmers Choice Kasarani, as well as adjacent customers.

North Rift Region

Nandi County: Koisolik and Kimong

Residents and businesses in Koisolik, Kimong, Sarora and adjacent areas will experience an electricity interruption from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Western Region

Musanda Market

Power supply will be interrupted from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Musanda Market, Lureko, Matawa, Imanga, Buhuru, Lukongo, Musanda Market, Bungatsi, Mutoma B and adjacent areas.

South Nyanza Region

Migori County: Obware and Ojawa

The planned outage will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Affected facilities and areas include Obware School, Obware Health Centre, Okayo, Ngira Booster, Ojawa and adjacent customers.

Mt. Kenya Region

Nyeri County: Gachatha and Kariguini

Electricity supply will be interrupted from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Kiandu Network Boosters, Kihora, Gachatha Market, Gachatha Coffee Factory, Kwa Joseph, Mutoigu, Kariguini Market, Thandii and adjacent areas.

Endarasha, Charity and Watuka

Another outage in Nyeri County will affect Pura, Gakanga, Gitegi, Watuka Secondary School, Embaringo, Nganoini, Kulamawe, Kimunyuru Market, Kimunyuru Primary School and adjacent customers.

The interruption is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Kenya Power has urged customers in the listed areas to take note of the scheduled maintenance and make the necessary arrangements before electricity supply is interrupted.
