20 Bafana players switch focus to the MTN8 final this weekend

Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates will meet in the MTN8 final on Saturday, 10 October 2026. The blockbuster clash taking place at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban. Kick-off is scheduled for 18:00.
20 BAFANA BAFANA STARS SET FOR MTN8 FINAL
The 20 players involved have just returned from international duty with Bafana Bafana. The national team friendships will be put aside when Sundowns and Pirates face each other for the MTN8 trophy.

Sundowns have the biggest contingent of Bafana Bafana players heading into the final, although their preparations have been affected by injury concerns.
Ronwen Williams and Ricardo Goss provide goalkeeper options. Thapelo Morena, Fawaaz Basadien, Thabang Matuludi, Aubrey Modiba, and Khulumani Ndamane add defensive depth.
In midfield and attack, the Brazilians can call on Teboho Mokoena, Bathusi Aubaas, Iqraam Rayners, Cassius Mailula, Tashreeq Matthews and Themba Zwane. However, Aubrey Modiba, Teboho Mokoena and Bathusi Aubaas are carrying injuries and face late fitness tests before the final.
Orlando Pirates will also have a strong Bafana Bafana presence as they look to defend their MTN8 crown.
Sipho Chaine is expected to play a key role in goal, while Nkosinathi Sibisi adds experience at the back. The Buccaneers also have Kamogelo Sebelebele, Lebone Seema, Tshepang Moremi, Yanela Mbuthuma and Oswin Appollis available for the blockbuster clash.
