Pigs fly down waterslide to cool off in plunge pool on Cambodian farm, go viral

More than 30 pigs have become unlikely social media stars at Keat Farm in Cambodia's Kampong Chhnang, splashing down bright pink water slides, diving into a pool and showing off tricks including cannonballs and underwater somersaults.

Sprinklers keep the slides wet, while ducks paddle alongside the swimming pigs, who are rewarded with special treats after taking the plunge.

Farm owner Bun Chan Virak explained that the idea began as a way to help the pigs cool down, as they are unable to sweat. He later added slides to turn their swimming sessions into an unusual attraction.

"When they swim, they get this special treat, but if they don't swim, they still get their regular food. So we use two methods: first, treating them as a reward when they perform the action," Bun Chan Virak said, who added that treats are also awarded when the pigs hear the sound of water at the slide.

Videos of the pigs lining up for the slides and plunging into the pool have spread across social media, drawing curious visitors to the farm.

Visitor Vanna said he was impressed by the pigs' willingness to play along and ability to navigate the slides.

"Swimming pigs are something truly special and cute. We were so excited to come because of how cute they are. They swim like they really know how, as if they've been trained, and they run up and down. It's just so fascinating and fun to watch," another visitor, Ngim, said.

Not everyone is convinced by the unusual spectacle, however, with some social media users questioning whether the activity is suitable for the animals.
