Cagliari confirm Trepy allowed back in training a month after drowning incident

Wonderful news from Cagliari, as striker Yael Trepy received the all clear from doctors to resume training a month on from the drowning scare that left him in a coma.
The 20-year-old ran into difficulty in the deep end of a rented pool during a day off in Sardinia on August 16 and was rushed to hospital in critical condition.
Trepy ready for return to Cagliari
He was placed in an induced coma to help remove all the water from his lungs, and spent 10 days in hospital receiving treatment.
Trepy was allowed to return home to continue under the care of his family and the club’s medical staff.
A statement released by Cagliari confirmed that he has been given the all clear to resume training with the rest of his teammates after cardiac tests in Milan showed no after-effects of the harrowing experience.
It will be a gradual process to get him back up to speed, so it is not yet clear when he will be able to return to the field.
Joining the Cagliari youth academy in 2023, Trepy had started the first competitive match of the season in the Coppa Italia, and was scheduled to play in Serie A before the accident.
