Maaz Sadaqat celebrates his maiden T20 hundred • CPL
Jamaica Kingsmen 145 for 1 (Sadaqat 112, Sams 1-26) beat Barbados Tridents 144 for 6 (De Kock 71, Green 57*, Russell 2-36) by nine wickets
Maaz Sadaqat's explosive maiden T20 century put Jamaica Kingsmen in Qualifier 2 of CPL 2026 as they chased down 145 against Barbados Tridents with nine wickets and 35 balls in hand in Bridgetown. Sadaqat smashed 112 off 49 balls, including nine fours and eight sixes, to make the chase a one-sided affair and end Tridents' campaign.
Sadaqat set the tone early, after being struck on the hand by a Daniel Sams bouncer in the first over, racing to 50 off just 22 balls as Kingsmen surged to 79 without loss in the powerplay in the middling chase. He was given an early reprieve on 16, when substitute keeper Rivaldo Clarke put down a chance, and Tridents were made to pay heavily for the missed opportunity.
In the fifth over, the Pakistani left-hand batt then took apart AM Ghazanfar, launching three successive sixes as Kingsmen's chase gathered momentum early.
Sadaqat didn't let up, bringing up his hundred from 44 balls. He was eventually dismissed, caught and bowled by Sams in the 14th over, but by then Kingsmen needed only seven runs for victory.
Kirk McKenzie, who had the best seat in the house throughout Sadaqat's assault, finished unbeaten on 22 off 34 balls.
Earlier, Tridents' innings had threatened to collapse before Quinton de Kock and Chris Green steadied the side.
Tridents were reduced to 30 for 5 inside seven overs after Kingsmen's bowlers made early inroads. De Kock counter-attacked with 71 off 49 balls, while Green, at No. 7, remained unbeaten on 57 off 44. Their sixth-wicket partnership helped Tridents recover to 144 for 6, but it proved nowhere near enough.
Hassan Khan, Saim Ayub and Hunain Shah took a wicket each, while Andre Russell finished with two.
