NAGOYA, Oct 2 — Malaysia retained their Asian Games women’s team squash title today after defeating Hong Kong 2-1 in the final at the Nagoya Kinjo Futo Arena, securing the country’s seventh gold medal of the Games.

The Star reported that Aifa Azman gave Malaysia the opening point with an 11-9, 11-9, 12-10 victory over Ho Tze Lok before world No. 5 S. Sivasangari fell 7-11, 11-9, 11-9, 5-11, 7-11 to Chan Sin Yuk.

Aira Azman then delivered the decisive point, defeating Lee Ka Yi 11-9, 11-5, 11-4 to secure the title for Malaysia.

The victory was Malaysia’s third squash gold at Aichi-Nagoya 2026, after Ng Eain Yow and Sivasangari won the men’s and women’s individual titles respectively.

Malaysia had entered today with six gold, five silver and 13 bronze medals, having already met the national contingent’s pre-Games target of six golds.

The women’s team also successfully defended the title they won at Hangzhou 2022, where Malaysia likewise defeated Hong Kong 2-1 in the final.
