Ayush Badoni has been named as the replacement for the injured Rajat Patidar in the India A squad for the upcoming ACC Rising Stars Asia Cup, starting November 19 in Doha.

“Rajat Patidar has communicated to the BCCI that he should not be considered for selection in the 50-over format as he manages his existing injuries,” said a Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) statement.

The 26-year-old Badoni was part of India’s senior squad in the ODI series against New Zealand at the start of the year, but is yet to make his international debut.

In Patidar’s absence, Rinku Singh has been elevated to the role of vice-captain.

India A is placed in Group B alongside the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Nepal, and Pakistan A. Group A comprises Bangladesh A, Sri Lanka A, Afghanistan A and Hong Kong, China. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals.
