Joe Rogan Sets Multi-Year Extension With Spotify

Spotify and top podcaster Joe Rogan have agreed to a multi-year contract extension.
The parties declined to specify terms, including financials. The Wall Street Journal reported that Rogan could end up with an “estimated earnout” of $250 million.
The new extension continues to broaden distribution of the show, which was exclusive to Spotify between 2020 and 2024.
The Joe Rogan Experience launched in 2009. Its 2,500-plus episodes have featured two- to three-hour interviews with a range of actors, comedians, athletes, politicians, authors and more.
The show was the top podcast on Spotify, YouTube, and Apple Podcasts in 2025. Since starting on Spotify in 2020, the show has gained 18 million followers, making it the streamer’s most followed podcast.
As the show’s audience has grown, so has Rogan’s clout in the political arena. His interview with Donald Trump before the 2024 election was credited with delivering a boost down the stretch, while the decision by opponent Kamala Harris not to travel to Rogan’s Austin, TX studio became a key part of autopsies of her failed campaign. Recently, Rogan has become more vocal about his skepticism about Trump, but many of his views align with those of the MAGA base.
In 2022, musician Neil Young pulled his music from Spotify over what he said was misinformation Rogan was spreading about vaccination. Spotify stood by Rogan. Young returned the music to the platform two years later.
In a statement, Rogan called the Spotify relationship “an amazing fit,” adding that he was “extremely happy and excited to continue with them for years to come.”
Jordan Newman, head of content partnerships at Spotify said Rogan “has built something incredibly enduring, and his show continues to resonate with a massive global audience because there’s simply nothing else like it.”
