The standout tie of the Carabao Cup fourth round sees Liverpool welcome Chelsea to Anfield this evening (8pm kick-off), with a spot in the quarter finals on the line.

It is the first meeting of the season between the two teams, both clubs bringing in new Spanish bosses over the summer.

The tie between Liverpool and Chelsea is one of six all-Premier League contests, five of which kick off earlier on Wednesday evening. Victorious teams will be keeping an eye on coverage of the Liverpool-Chelsea game, as the draw for the quarter finals is slated to take place following the conclusion of the match.

Liverpool and Chelsea have plenty of League Cup history, facing each other in the 2022 and 2024 finals. The Reds were victorious on both occasions, but were unable to lift the trophy on their last visit to Wembley for the Carabao Cup final, losing to Newcastle United in 2025.

Despite that defeat, Liverpool remain the most successful team in Carabao Cup history, winning the competition 10 times. The Blues are no mugs when it comes to the Carabao Cup - Chelsea have won English football’s secondary cup competition on five occasions.
