Bangladesh will host West Indies for a two-match Test, beginning Wednesday, with its hopes of reaching the ICC World Test Championship still alive.

The Najmul Shanto-led side upset Australia in Darwin earlier this year that came as a real shot in the arm for its qualification hopes.

How can Bangladesh reach the WTC Final?

Bangladesh is currently fourth in the WTC standings, with a point percentage of 55.56. It will play six more games in this cycle — two each against West Indies and England at home and two more away against South Africa.

The current top two, Australia and New Zealand, have their win percentages in excess of 70. But these might drop, considering the teams face each other in a four-Test series and have tough away assignments too.

However, If Bangladesh wants to keep its hopes alive, it needs to ensure it can get its win percentage over 60. For that, it needs to win at least four games out of the six.

Its safest bet right now is winning the four games at home and still be in the race when it heads to its final series against South Africa.
