India’s Harshita Tomar and Shital Verma bagged bronze in the women’s skiff sailing event at the ongoing Asian Games 2026, in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.
They finished third with a net total of 24, behind Japan (11) and Hong Kong, China (15).
Initially, the Indian duo had finished fourth at the end of the ninth and final race. However, Harshita and Shital were later bumped up to third, and announced as bronze medallists, after China was disqualified in the second, sixth, and eighth races.
This was India’s second sailing medal after Prince Noble and Manu Francis had clinched silver in the men’s skiff event on Thursday. Then on Friday, Nethra Kumanan won bronze in the women’s dinghy event.
