Bonfire Adventures managing director Sarah Kabu has revealed that the travel company she co-founded with her former husband, Simon Kabu, is seeking an investor to acquire the business and take it to the next level.

Sarah made the revelation during an interview with Radio Jambo, where she discussed the state of the company following the couple’s highly publicised separation.

She said discussions were already underway with potential investors both in Kenya and abroad as the company explores its next phase of growth.

“Saa hii tunatafuta investor mwenye anaweza kununua kampuni and take it to the next level. So sasa tunaongea na watu kutoka nchi tofauti na pia huku Kenya,” she said.

Sarah reveals impact of separation on Bonfire

Sarah also spoke about the effect her split from Simon had on the company they built together.

She said Bonfire lost some customers following the couple’s personal fallout, with people from their respective circles appearing to take sides.

“Tulipoteza wateja kwa sababu sasa walikuwa wamekosa imani na kampuni,” Sarah said.

Despite the setback, she said the company managed to recover as some clients remained neutral and continued doing business with Bonfire.

Sarah also maintained that the travel company remains financially strong.

“It is still doing well; it’s making billions,” she stated.

Sarah and Simon built Bonfire together

Bonfire Adventures was founded by Sarah and Simon Kabu and grew from a small travel venture into a recognised tour and travel company.

The business initially focused on organising group trips before expanding into a broader travel agency offering.

However, the founders’ business relationship has come under increased scrutiny following the end of their marriage.

Simon recently confirmed during another Radio Jambo interview that he and Sarah are officially divorced. The former couple have also publicly differed over aspects of the company’s management and operations.

Bonfire’s next chapter

Sarah’s latest comments put the future ownership of Bonfire Adventures in focus, with the company now engaging potential investors who could acquire the business.

The move comes as the former couple navigate the separation of their personal and professional lives after building Bonfire together.
