Discovery+, Now Owned by Skydance, Hikes Prices Effective Immediately

Discovery+ is raising prices for U.S. customers, coming one week after Paramount closed its megamerger with Warner Bros. Discovery to form Skydance Corp.
Starting Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2026, the Discovery+ ad-supported plan will increase by $1 to $6.99/month and the ad-free plan will increase by $2 to $11.99/month in the U.S.
The higher prices are effective immediately for new subscriptions. Existing subscribers will receive 30 days advance notice and see updated prices reflected on their billing statements on or after Nov. 12, 2026, according to the company. It’s likely the Discovery+ price increase was planned ahead of the merger.
Previously housed within Warner Bros. Discovery’s direct-to-consumer streaming division, Discovery+ is the streaming home for programming from HGTV, Food Network, TLC, ID, Discovery, Animal Planet and Magnolia Network. A subset of the content on Discovery+ is also available on HBO Max.
For now, Skydance is maintaining its streaming services as they have existed prior to the merger. But eventually, the plan is to consolidate its major offerings, HBO Max and Paramount+, into a single product, Skydance chairman and CEO David Ellison has said.
Discovery+ content spans food, home, relationships, true crime, paranormal, adventure, natural history and more. Subscribers can watch new seasons of shows like “90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way,” “90 Day Fiancé: Hunt For Love,” “Sister Wives,” “Ghost Adventures,” “Scariest House in America,” “Sin City Rehab” and “Gold Rush,” as well as the new series “A Very Haunted Renovation.”
Other popular series streaming on the platform include “Evil Lives Here,” “Expedition Unknown,” “Deadliest Catch,” plus shows from Chip and Joanna Gaines, Guy Fieri, Bobby Flay and more.
