The Indianapolis Colts are trading three-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle DeForest Buckner back to the San Francisco 49ers, the team that made him a 2016 first-round pick before dealing him to Indianapolis in 2020, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

The Colts will receive a 2027 fourth-round pick from the 49ers, sources said.

This is the second major trade the Colts have made with an NFC West team on Tuesday, following the trade of eight-time Pro Bowl guard Quenton Nelson to the Seattle Seahawks.

Buckner, 32, has four sacks this season and 75.5 in his career.
