Prime Video's hit R-rated fantasy series is officially running out of steam, beginning its descent at the worst possible time. Prime Video is home to a number of major fantasy TV shows that have been hallmarks of the streaming service for several years. From the returning Rings of Power season 3 to the animated universe being built through The Legend of Vox Machina and The Mighty Nein, Prime Video is no stranger to fantasy TV series across various mediums.

Another core success in the animation department has been the latest addition to its lineup: Helluva Boss, a spinoff series to the highly-successful musical comedy Hazbin Hotel. Helluva Boss season 3 is the first season of the show to debut on Prime Video, the comedy-drama having previously aired on YouTube before falling under Amazon's umbrella. The show follows Blitzø (the "o" is silent), an imp who runs an assassination service in Hell for sinners who want to kill people still alive on Earth. It also follows the core characters' lives as they grow and change across seasons.

Helluva Boss Is Losing Its Hold On Prime Video's Top 10

Unfortunately, while the show has been airing season 3 part 1 with two episodes weekly, it's already starting to plummet off Prime Video's top TV show list. According to data from October 29, 2026, Helluva Boss is currently the Number 7 TV show in the world on Prime Video. This includes a Number 8 spot in the United States, along with a handful of higher placements, including Number 2 in the Czech Republic. However, this is a significant drop from when the season began, premiering at Number 5 in the world and Number 4 in the US.

Helluva Boss season 3 has taken a few steps back from the assassination business to focus on the aftermath of Stolas getting ousted from the Goetic world after helping Blitzø run his business. The romantic tension between the pair has been of significant focus, as Stolas has begun having doubts about what happened after ruining his relationship with his daughter, Octavia. It's gone back and forth with the pair as the core focus, showcasing their evolution in the aftermath of what they've gained and lost.

The Drop Couldn't Come At A Worse Moment For The Fantasy Series

The viewership dropoff is coming at a significant point for the series, making it all the worse. Viewership is declining just one day after season 3 part 1 ended, implying a number of viewers stopped tuning in between the first batch of episodes and the last. While the series remains on Prime Video's Top 10 list, it's nowhere near the heights it was when season 3 first began. This makes it uncertain what to expect from the series' performance on the platform in the days and weeks to come.

Question 1 of 3

Either way, the show has long-term plans that are already confirmed to be playing out regardless of viewership levels. Season 3 part 2 is set to air in the first half of 2027, while a fourth and final season has already been confirmed. The show has also earned plenty of positive reception from fans and critics alike, meaning it hasn't fully fallen to the wayside. Even so, it appears Helluva Boss season 3 is in a rut right now, which may or may not prove temporary depending on how things shape up.
