India has named a 15-member wrestling contingent for the Asian Games 2026, set to be held in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, between September 19 and October 4.
Olympic bronze medallist Aman Sehrawat and Asian Games 2022 silver medallist Deepak Punia are some of the prominent names amongst men.
Sunil Kumar and Antim Panghal, other medal winners from the previous edition, also made the cut.
India won a total of six medals - one silver and five bronze - in wrestling at the 2022 Asiad.
A flurry of doping cases have marred India’s buildup to the Games, with as many as three wrestlers - Deepak (67 kg, Greco-Roman), Deepanshu (130 kg, Greco-Roman), and Mukul Dahiya (86 kg, freestyle) - dropped from the initial squad.
