NBC’s Mike Tirico Skipping ‘Sunday Night Football’ In Chicago Due To “Health Issue”

Translate

Mike Tirico is sitting out this weekend’s Sunday Night Football in Chicago as he recovers from an illness.

On Sunday, the NBC Sports commentator announced his last-minute absence due to “a health issue,” with Noah Eagle taking over for him at the game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Chicago Bears.

“Unfortunately, I will have to miss tonight’s game in Chicago due to a health issue,” he said in a statement shared by NBC. “I look forward to watching tonight and can’t wait to be back with Cris, Melissa and the rest of our SNF team next Sunday night in Cincinnati.”

Tirico’s latest health issue comes after he abruptly departed NBC’s coverage of the Kentucky Derby in May 2025 due to a “significant reaction” caused by his nut allergy.

Sunday’s game between the Buccaneers and the Bears will take place at Soldier Field, with kickoff at 8:20pm ET/5:20pm PT.
