Those looking for movies streaming for free can find many exciting options on Tubi, and this weekend, subscribers better get ready for a superhero fan-favorite, one of the best movies of all time, and a live-action dinosaur movie not from the Jurassic Park franchise. On last weekend's Tubi recommendations, I talked about The Social Network, Spider-Man: Far From Home, and the 2016 Ghostbusters.
At the time of writing, one of those movies continues to have a successful run on the free streaming service. That would be Tom Holland's Spider-Man: Far From Home, one of the biggest movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Right now, Holland's second solo Spider-Man movie is the 3rd most popular movie on Tubi in the United States.
With that in mind, and as Marvel fans wait for 2026's Spider-Man: Brand New Day to arrive on streaming, I felt like including another of Holland's MCU movies on this weekend's Tubi recommendations would be a good move. As such, if you want to delve deeper into the MCU for free, then come to Tubi this weekend.
Joining this Holland Marvel movie is a live-action dinosaur film. While that genre is dominated by the iconic Jurassic Park franchise, this recent Tubi arrival promises to hook viewers all the way through, and it is led by a Star Wars fan-favorite actor. The other movie on our list is a classic drama that is trending right now. These are the best movies on Tubi this weekend:
3 Forrest Gump (1994)
First up is Forrest Gump, a cinematic classic that every fan of the silver screen must watch at least once in their lives. The Tom Hanks drama with plenty of comedic moments to cut through the more intense parts of the film is trending right now on Tubi. Forrest Gump is currently the 4th most-watched movie on Tubi, having recently climbed four spots.
As such, if you have not yet watched the iconic movie, then the time to fix that is right now. Forrest Gump focuses on Hanks' title character, exploring the wild life he has led so far, going through formative moments, shocking situations, and more, all with a lot of charm. Forrest Gump won several Oscars, including the Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Actor (Hanks), Best Director (Robert Zemeckis), and more. This is a must-watch.
2 Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)
Spider-Man: Homecoming is the first solo movie starring Holland's Peter Parker in the MCU. It arrived on Tubi on October 1 alongside 2019's Spider-Man: Far From Home. As Marvel fans wait for 2026's Spider-Man: Brand New Day to be released on streaming, there is no better project to help in that process than the one that started Holland's global hit Spider-Man franchise.
Spider-Man: Homecoming is an incredibly charming coming-of-age tale with vibrant superhero action peppered throughout. The school dynamics ground the movie, while Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man gives Peter a sense of purpose and what it means to be a true hero, and Michael Keaton's Vulture is one of the MCU's most menacing villains. Spider-Man: Homecoming boasts a near-perfect 92% critics' score on Rotten Tomatoes.
1 65 (2023)
The final movie on our Tubi recommendations this weekend is Adam Driver's 65, a sci-fi movie with an exciting twist. Driver gives life to Mills, a space pilot from the planet of Somaris who, 65 million years ago, crashes on a prehistoric Earth. Upon arriving, he has to quickly get to know the terrain and fight the dangerous creatures that were living on the planet at the time.
To survive and keep Ariana Greenblatt's young Koa safe, Mills must face off against dinosaurs, including a bloodthirsty archosaur, a couple of Tyrannosaurus rexes, and more. 65 is an action-packed final movie for our Tubi list, serving as the perfect pick for sci-fi fans and those who want to watch dinosaurs in live-action with good VFX.
