Finn Balor got the better of Gunther for a second week running, and the former Universal Champion wasn't done with him on WWE SmackDown. The Irish superstar showed up after The Ring General demanded a fight, and things turned physical pretty fast. Gunther had barely finished questioning Balor's actions from last week's Halloween special when his rival walked out. They traded blows, but Balor came out on top against the Austrian again. Gunther got away before another Coup de Grace could land, which leaves him with a rough night behind him heading into WWE Crown Jewel.
Be careful what you ask for, @Gunther_AUT... Here's the real @FinnBalor! ???? https://t.co/sVcyXTsgAf

Gunther's Verbal Attack on Finn Balor Backfires After the Former Universal Champion Accepts His Challenge
Gunther opened the segment by talking about his last run-in with Balor. He said he wasn't scared of The Demon during their Halloween special showdown, and claimed Balor had disgraced himself by getting involved with Danhausen.
The Ring General also questioned Balor's choice to bring back the Demon King persona, demanding that his rival face him like a “man.” So he clearly wanted the regular version of The Prince, not another supernatural appearance.
Balor didn't take long to answer. He came out and made it clear Gunther was dealing with the same person who had beaten him last week. He also said he was looking forward to unleashing the “Demon” inside him.

The talking soon became a physical fight. Both superstars traded attacks, but Balor eventually took control and pushed Gunther into retreat.
The Austrian had already taken an embarrassing loss on the October 30 episode of SmackDown. Gunther attacked Danhausen during his segment, only for the entertainer to bring out The Demon. Balor then hit a Coup de Grace from a ladder, and Gunther went crashing through the announce table.
This week's face-off nearly ended with another Coup de Grace, but Gunther slipped away before Balor could connect with the move.
Balor and Gunther's rivalry now heads into Crown Jewel weekend. WWE's November 7 event is set for Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, though the official event preview doesn't list a match between the two superstars.
