Tun M admitted to IJN for routine treatment
KUALA LUMPUR: Former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad was admitted to the National Heart Institute (IJN) yesterday for routine treatment.
His press secretary Sufi Yusoff said Dr Mahathir was fatigued and had not been getting enough rest following the death of his wife, Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali, on Monday.
"He is exhausted from the emotional ups and downs, the hot weather and a lack of rest. All of that is not a good combination for someone who is 101 years old," he said when contacted.
Dr Mahathir was earlier reported to have been admitted to IJN today.
