U-20 WWC: NSC Salutes Falconets On Qualification To Round Of 16

The National Sports Commission (NSC) has congratulated Nigeria’s Falconets following their round of 16 qualification at the 2026 FIFA U-20 women’s World Cup.

The Falconets sealed their place in the knockout round after hammering New Caledonia 10-1 in Sunday’s final group game in Poland.

Following the dominant win, the Falconets finished second and will now face England in the round of 16 on Thursday.

Reacting to the team’s qualification, the NSC wrote on their X handle:”The Falconets have booked their place in the knockout stage of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Poland 2026 following a commanding 10-1 victory over New Caledonia in Łódź.

“Ramotalahi Kareem and Winner Onajite David both completed hat-tricks, while Rebecca Adegbemile struck twice and Seimeyeha Janet Akekoromowei and Tosin Rafiu also got on the scoresheet.

“The emphatic victory takes Nigeria to four points and second place in Group F, behind Spain, and keeps the Falconets’ campaign alive in Poland.

“The National Sports Commission congratulates the players, coaches and entire team on a superb response and wishes the Falconets the very best in the knockout stage.
