So much of the hype and mystique around the upcoming release of Grand Theft Auto VI is just how little we knew about it for so long. Though the extensive breakdowns on Netflix have given us a much better understanding of everything that's coming in November, there are still plenty of mysteries that we're waiting on answers for.

Though it will obviously all become clear upon the release of the full game, there are other ways of gaining a better window into how far the developer has taken this latest iteration of the beloved series. It has never previously shied away from controversial elements and adult themes, and it seems as though (with regard to the latter at the very least) we should be in for something just as spicy this time around.

As first reported by IGN, GTA VI's store page in Australia and New Zealand has been updated to include the game's official age rating. Though the UK and USA stores have similar ratings, the descriptions in Oceania go a step further, confirming that "Sex" features in the game, likely confirming at least one scene will be present in the final product.

GTA V does feature very brief sex scenes (notably Trevor getting too comfortable with someone else's girlfriend), but nothing that can be described as graphic. It will be interesting to see how much further they take elements like that in this release, particularly given the increased realism on show.

It's also currently unclear exactly how the language of the ratings board works, and what is needed for inclusion to constitute those descriptions. It's also unclear whether they treat scripted sex scenes differently from anything the player can do themselves, as in GTA V where players have the ability to pick up sex workers.

Whatever the case does end up being, it seems as though Rockstar has hardly done much to reel themselves in from their usual display of excess that we've all come to love in GTA releases. There was always likely to be more of an element of romance in this one as well, given the relationship between our two protagonists, and we've already seen them be quite tender in the gameplay we've seen so far. As long as the gameplay delivers as much as it looks like it will in the trailers we have seen so far, then we should be on to a winner.

In any case, we don't have too long to wait to finally see what Rockstar has been cooking up, with Grand Theft Auto VI still scheduled for release on November 19. Let's just hope it has everything players are hoping for, otherwise that wait will quickly end up seeming a lot less worthwhile.
