Kamene Explains Why She Doesn’t Live With DJ Bonez
Popular media personality Kamene Goro has shut down rumors that her marriage to DJ Bonez is on the rocks, clarifying that the couple is living in different cities purely due to career commitments.
Speaking during a candid phone interview with Milele FM presenter Ankali Ray, Kamene set the record straight following growing online speculation sparked by her recent social media posts.
“Hatuna ubaya, there is no problem between Bonez and me, but we are not staying together. Bonez is in Mombasa, and I am in Nairobi. Everyone has their work. We don’t hate each other. Yeah, we respect each other,” Kamene explained.
The Social Media Post That Sparked Rumors
The chatter around their relationship began after Kamene posted a social media update mentioning waking up alone, accompanied by a song by Bien. Netizens quickly jumped to conclusions, speculating that the post signaled a breakup or marital distress.
However, Kamene firmly pushed back against these claims, clarifying that loving a song or enjoying time alone does not mean she is back on the market.
“People like to misinterpret things. I put Bien’s song because I love that song, and just because I woke up alone is not that I am complaining, and it also does not mean that I am single; people need to get that right,” she stated.
“I have said I’m not single; that is it… everyone now thinks that I am available. I am not available at all. Just because I woke up alone does not mean I am single. I’m just saying how I woke up feeling great on my own.”
Love Across Cities
Despite the geographical distance between Nairobi and Mombasa, both Kamene and DJ Bonez maintain that their bond remains intact and built on mutual respect.
DJ Bonez has previously publicly reaffirmed his commitment to his wife, dismissing external noise surrounding their union:
“I am married, and I love my wife so much; my marriage is six years.”
For Kamene, living apart for work is simply a practical arrangement, not a sign of trouble in paradise—and she wants fans and critics alike to stop reading into her day-to-day posts.
