Florida State freshman cornerback Chuck Kennon, the Seminoles' top-rated recruit in this year's class, has been dismissed from the program for "conduct detrimental to the team."

The school confirmed Kennon's dismissal to ESPN on Tuesday. The Sarasota, Florida, native was no longer listed on Florida State's roster as of Tuesday morning.

Kennon, the No. 56 overall recruit on the SC Next ESPN 300 in 2026, played only one snap for the Seminoles this season, on Oct. 3 against Virginia.

The 6-foot-2, 175-pound Kennon played receiver and defensive back in high school. The sixth-ranked cornerback in ESPN's 2026 class, he chose Florida State over Florida, Georgia, LSU, Miami and Oregon.

The Seminoles (3-3, 1-2 ACC) visit the rival Hurricanes on Saturday night.

Since winning the ACC title in 2023, Florida State is 4-15 in conference games and has not won a regular-season game on the road since beating Florida on Nov. 25, 2023.
