Bruce Springsteen Leads All-Star Jam Session to Close Power to the People Fest

Translate

Bruce Springsteen and Tom Morello led an all-star jam session to close out the inaugural Power to the People Festival on Saturday night.

Springsteen initially took the stage solo to perform “Streets of Minneapolis,” his protest song written in tribute to Renée Good and Alex Pretti, before welcoming Joan Baez for a cover of Bob Dylan’s “Chimes of Freedom.” Morello then joined Springsteen for performances of The Clash’s “Clampdown” and “The Ghost of Tom Joad.”

As the set progressed, so too did the guest list: Dave Matthews and Nathaniel Rateliff joined in for a cover of Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Fortunate Son,” followed by Dave Grohl for “Rockin’ in the Free World.”

Finally, all of the day’s performers gathered on stage for a pair of grand finales: Woody Guthrie’s “This Land Is Your Land” and John Lennon’s “Power to the People.”
