‘Evita’ On Broadway: Rachel Zegler To Be Joined By London Co-Stars Diego Rodriguez & James Olivas

Rachel Zegler will be joined in Broadway‘s Evita by her London co-stars Diego Rodriguez and James Olivas when the musical revival arrives in New York in February.

The casting was announced today by producers Jamie Lloyd and Michael Harrison. Evita begins previews at Broadway’s Winter Garden Theatre on Saturday, February 27, 2027, ahead of an opening on Thursday, March 25, 2027.

Olivier Award nominee Rodriguez will play Che and Olivas, making his Broadway debut, will portray Juan Perón. As previously announced, Zegler plays Eva Perón.

Also in the cast will be Bella Brown (who will play The Mistress and, at certain performances, Eva Perón) and Ángel Lozada (Agustín Magaldi), with the ensemble including Giuseppe Bausilio, Mely Berdion, Brandon Borkowsky, Ayla Ciccone-Burton, Grace Conrad, Christian Jesús Galvis, Tommy Gedrich, Sydney Jones, Natasha Leaver, Maggie Likcani, Mireia Mambo, Sebastian Martinez, Justice Moore, Pepe Muñoz, Julio Rey, Ken San Jose, Victor Carrillo Tracey, Damani Van Rensalier, and J’Kobe Wallace. Swings for the production are Alexis Hasbrouck, AK Naderer, Regine Sophia, Francisco Thurston, Bryce Valle and Michael Bryan Wang.

The full creative team for Evita on Broadway and final casting for the role of The Child will be announced at a later date.

Rodriguez’s credits include Broadway’s Sunset Blvd., and Olivas has appeared in Los Angeles productions of American Idiot, Kinky Boots and Secret Garden. TV credits include American Horror Stories. Brown’s stage credits include Into The Woods, Hadestown and Stephen Sondheim’s Old Friends, and Lozada appeared on Broadway in Bad Cinderella.
