The President and Commander-in-Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu, Southwest states governors and the Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, are among the dignitaries expected at the 11th General Assembly of the Muslim Ummah of South West Nigeria (MUSWEN), holding on November 15 at the University of Ibadan Central Mosque.

AbdulRahman AbdulGhaniy, the Chairman of the General Assembly 2026 Central Planning Committee, said in a statement in Ibadan that Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum is expected to deliver the annual lecture.

Leaders of Muslim organisations across the Southwest geopolitical zones attend the annual General Assembly of MUSWEN.

In addition to the annual lecture, delegates are expected to ratify the organisation’s leadership change, as the incumbent president vacates office after leading MUSWEN for the last six years.

Rasaki Oladejo became President of MUSWEN on November 22, 2020, succeeding the late Sakariyau Babalola.

In the statement, Mr AbdulGaniy also called on Muslim philanthropists to support MUSWEN in reaching its goal of raising N2 billion to support its projects on empowerment of the less privileged, construction of a state-of-the-art health facility and provision of scholarships for needy members of the Ummah.
