Editor's Note: The following contains spoilers for MobLand Season 2, Episode 3.

Every week, MobLand continues to raise the bar for its action-packed Season 2, and the latest episode "Bonzo Goes to Bitburg" ends with a literal bang as Frankie Cooper (Johnny Flynn) finally comes face to face with the Harrigans and Harry (Tom Hardy). After hitting all the members of the Harrigans at once at the end of Episode 2, Episode 3 sees the crime family scrambling to get back on their feet. After a tense meeting, a kidnapped Bella (Lara Pulver) is reunited with Kevin (Paddy Considine), but as Frankie leaves on his scooter he's left a little gift behind in the form of a bomb.

We spoke with Flynn and Pulver for this heart-pounding episode where we finally see the Harrigans meeting their match with Frankie. Flynn discussed his character's ruthlessness and comments on whether or not there's a line that he wouldn't cross. He also comments on where Frankie's loyalties lie, whether they're with Tattersall (Toby Jones), Kat McAllister (Janet McTeer), or himself. With Pulver, we discussed Bella's fractured relationships with both Kevin and Eddie and whether either one is reconcilable.

Johnny Flynn on Frankie Cooper's Ruthlessness in 'MobLand' Season 2

COLLIDER: Johnny, I'm going to kick off with you because you're the new arrival. I love Frankie. He is so unhinged and weird in the best ways, and he does some pretty messed up things this season, including kidnapping Bella and attacking the Harrigans. Is there a line you think he wouldn't cross?

JOHNNY FLYNN: Frankly, no, which, I think as the show progresses through the season, realizing that is what's so terrifying. And Jez [Butterworth] was quite careful or insistent to keep upping the bar in terms of what he's prepared to do. He does some shocking things, I suppose, to match the level of unhinged of Maeve and Conrad, and how far Harry’s willing to go, as well, to protect his legacy. So, he's built as a match for them, but with a different sort of flavor and a different energy, really.

Lara Pulver on Bella's Relationship With Kevin and Eddie in 'MobLand' Season 2

"So, it's a dog-eat-dog world, isn't it?"

Lara, we ended last season with Kevin and Bella having a rift between them after finding out the truth about her and Conrad, but we see at the end of Episode 3 that they've kind of reconciled. She hugs him, and it’s like, "Oh, thank God she's safe." Is this the beginning of a bridge forming between them again, or are they just going to be pushed further apart because of all this happening?

LARA PULVER: It's tricky. I feel like the wonderful thing about these relationships is that you do have these tender moments between couples, or sons and their mothers, and then the whole chaotic nature of the show, the energy of that is so loud and strong that you almost get torn or pulled apart. So, I feel like just being able to navigate and hold onto your own path takes a lot, let alone having to have the back of someone else.

So, look, would Kevin protect Bella? Would Bella look out for Kevin? Possibly. Would they always put themselves first? Yes, probably. So, it's a dog-eat-dog world, isn't it? On some days I'm not sure who they align with, who they value, who they're being loyal to, and who they're keeping secrets from. And like I say, it will change in virtually every scene, and that's the politics, the dynamic, the chaos of being a Harrigan, I think.

One of the biggest scenes that shocked me at the end of Season 1 is when Eddie was hugging Bella, and he nearly killed her in the process. Obviously, when it comes to Kevin, she's looking out for herself first, but Eddie is her son. Is that relationship going to be mended at all throughout the process of Season 2, or are they just being separated further and further?

PULVER: I feel like the umbilical cord doesn't get cut. I feel like her loyalty to Eddie is unwavering. Unfortunately, there are many that get in the way of that, and that's what she has to navigate and choose to either challenge or step away from. Because at the end of the day, he's a grown-ass man now, Eddie. Does he behave as one? No. Does he have the tools? No. But that's because we as a family haven’t gifted him that.

I mean, he's been brought up in privilege and is an absolute victim of circumstances. So, it's interesting. Like I say, you definitely get moments of Eddie and Bella coming back together, and there is love there, but he's also his own man.

Flynn Discusses How Frankie Will Deal With Tattersall and Kat McAllister

"The everyone-out-for-themselves thing is you're only useful until you're not..."

Johnny, Frankie has this deal with Tattersall, but does he realize that he's also in bed with Kat McAllister and that he's ostensibly working for her? Because I get the impression that he wouldn't want to be subservient to anyone, and Tattersall's kind of puppet-mastering him a little bit.

FLYNN: That's the brilliance of the writing. You will see Frankie’s understanding of his relationship with Kat and how, given the chance, if he needed to, he would get rid of Tattersall and go straight to Kat. So, he and Kat start working together closely, as well.

I think that that's the thing. The everyone-out-for-themselves thing is you're only useful until you're not, and he's enjoying playing with Tattersall and using and rinsing him for all he’s worth. But at some point, somewhere in the middle of the series, he turns on Tattersall, and you realize for a second that there's no loyalty there, that there's nothing that would stop him. It's only the fun of it that he's there for. He's like a cat with a mouse, and it's terrifying.

But also, I think Colin Tattersall is excited by that at the same time, the danger of the situation that he's in. So, they're both getting something from it.
