PlayStation Plus Members Have Two New Bonus Freebies To Claim Now

Translate

Lee D’Amato is a writer born, raised, and based in Queens, New York. With collective thousands of hours in games like Final Fantasy, Metal Gear, Elden Ring, and The Legend of Zelda, he's now writes game features, guides, and reviews for Screen Rant, but has covered a wide range of topics, including ancient history, affordable travel, and overall health.

PlayStation Plus subscribers can claim two extra freebies as of November 2026. The subscription service for online play and game distribution recently dropped its November crop of free games, which includes some all-time classics from the Tomb Raider franchise, a modern zombie hit, and a delightful roguelike.

PS Plus has also recently added a few new titles to its Game Catalog, as it does regularly. There's lots to check out there, but in the meantime, a lesser-known freebie has gone under the radar.

That additional freebie is now available to PS Plus subscribers, and it's one not as many players seem to know about. In case you missed the memo, don't forget to check out these extra free games while they're available on PlayStation Plus.

Through PlayStation Plus' new Game Trials program, you can now play trial versions of Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy and Mortal Shell 2 for free with your PS Plus subscription. Do note: Game Trials are only available for Premium-tier subscribers; Essential and Extra will have to content themselves with the rest of the massive Game Catalog.

Resonance is the third game in the Plague Tale series, and serves as a prequel to the first. You'll play as Sophia, a smuggler who begins having visions of the distant past. In time, you'll flash between the Minoan Period and the Middle Ages, playing through Sophia's visions to reveal the path forward.

It's quite a bit more action-oriented than previous games in the series, which were all about stealth; there's a full-on parry mechanic here. While you may miss the stealth focus if you played Innocence and Requiem, both of which have previously been featured in the PS Plus Essential tier, Resonance is a great game in its own right. Since it's a prequel, it serves as a decent entry point to the series, too.

As for Mortal Shell 2, it's an action RPG that many have rated among the best Soulslikes they've ever played. You'll build your character using the titular Shells to change your abilities, and equipping different options to suit your needs from moment to moment. Although its open world isn't the biggest, it's got lots to explore, with tons of bonus dungeons and new weapons to discover.

Screen Rant's own Leo Faierman gave Mortal Shell 2 a 9/10 rating, praising it as "a fantastic dark fantasy action-RPG, original and strange, replete with options to soften or sharpen its challenge curve." You can check out the trial on PS Plus Premium, and, if you've been an Essential subscriber for a while now, you may find the original Mortal Shell is already in your library.

These join previously announced Game Trials for Valheim, The Sinking City 2, The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu, John Carpenter's Toxic Commando, Directive 8020, and more. Of course, you'll still have to pay to play the full versions of these and other games included in the PlayStation Plus Game Trials program, but your subscription could give you the chance to try them for free first.
