Glenn Close shares health update after she was spotted using a cane

Glenn Close has shared a health update with fans after she was spotted using a cane. The Oscar-nominated screen icon was recently seen with the walking aid at the NewFest premiere of her movie La Bola Negra in New York City.
However, the star has since taken to Instagram to clarify things, sharing that she recently had a hip replacement, though is thankfully "feeling great".
"I wanted to just hop on and thank you for all you love, and to explain why I have a cane," Close began in the video. "I have a cane because I had a complete hip replacement.
"Found out that my left hip was in really bad shape, and my whole thing right now is to keep myself in running order, so that I can really leap into whatever challenges come my way."
The star added that she is "hobbling around on a cane for now", though is hoping to attend the upcoming premieres of The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping in London and All's Fair in New York.
"So I hope to be fully present there… and maybe not running around, going up mountains but at least my good old self," she continued.
"So love to everyone, don't worry, I'm feeling great. I have my wonderful, wonderful family around me, and I look forward to all the adventures coming. Love to everyone."

Writing in the comments, Close added: "A needed explanation. My deep gratitude to Dr. Edwin Sue at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York for being a consummate physician in every way. Thank you for my new hip."
The star has since received many supportive comments, with drag star Bianca Del Rio sharing a series of heart emojis, as did All's Fair co-star Niecy Nash-Betts.
"Inspiration incarnate," added Jennifer Grey, while singer Tina Arena shared: "Sending you much love Glenn."
