Westeros has another dragon to fear now, but this magnificent Game of Thrones creature doesn’t rush into battle, breathing fire at everything in sight.

Game of Thrones: Dragonfire now features Kalspire, a Legendary Champion dragon known as the Radiant Conqueror, on its roster. The official announcement introduces the creature as a calculating fighter whose abilities focus on repeated attacks, damage over time, and weakening opponents.

For those who aren’t aware, Dragonfire is a free-to-play Game of Thrones mobile strategy game developed by Warner Bros. Games Boston and based on HBO’s House of the Dragon series. It launched globally on June 2, with 28 dragons available at launch, including Caraxes and Syrax. The game has players hatch and raise dragons, build armies, form alliances, and compete for control of Westeros.

Kalspire is an original dragon created for the game—the TV series doesn’t feature him. His addition gives players another Legendary Champion built around sustained damage and targeted suppression, but mind you, all of that doesn’t come unlocked: You’d have to grind a bit to earn the egg and hatch it.

How Kalspire’s Abilities Work In Game Of Thrones: Dragonfire

GOT Dragonfire Kalspire-1

To explain his style in Dragonfire, here’s a bit of Kalspire’s story: At the Battle of Duskwatch, he chose to watch over the battlefield and observe the clash before descending to strike at enemy commanders, supply lines, and morale. In combat, he builds pressure through lingering effects and reduced enemy offensive strength.

His Command ability, Tactical Strike, adds Tactical Damage after each Basic Attack. It also has a chance to inflict Bleed on the target and one adjacent enemy. The chance is checked separately for each enemy, and Bleed deals Physical Damage each round for two rounds. Kalspire’s Habits add several effects. For example, Robust Insight increases his Strength and Instincts throughout combat. Battle Cunning reduces the Strength and Intelligence of three enemies until the fight ends, while Intelligence reduction is enhanced by Instincts.

Tactical Assault builds on Tactical Strike. After each Basic Attack, Kalspire deals Physical Damage to an adjacent enemy that was not the original target. It can also inflict Panic on the target and another adjacent enemy, with each chance checked separately. Panic deals Tactical Damage each round for two rounds.

Dragon’s Insight reduces the damage Kalspire receives and increases his Instincts until combat ends. His final Habit, Radiant Conqueror, comes with a drawback: at the start of round one, he takes reduced damage but is stunned for that round. At the start of round two, he reduces the Physical Damage dealt by the enemy with the highest Strength and the Fire Damage dealt by the enemy with the highest Intelligence. These reductions last five rounds. Kalspire’s first-round stun can limit his early impact, while his second-round effects target two enemies selected by their offensive stats.

How To Unlock Kalspire In Game Of Thrones: Dragonfire

Now that you know how powerful Kalspire’s presence can be on your side, you’re likely already itching to hatch him for your Game of Thrones: Dragonfire roster. The good news is, you can get him the same way you obtained other dragons for your roster. All you have to do is collect his specific Dragon Relics, then summon and hatch his egg in your Dragonpit.

If you’re wondering how to get Kalspire relics in Game of Thrones: Dragonfire, well, it’s a legendary, making the process a tad bit difficult. I suggest opening as many Hatchery chests as you can, whether they are free or discounted gold chests. Focus on farming keys by completing daily tasks, personal chapters, and event stages; this will let you open premium Hatchery chests. Also, make sure you complete any live events or campaign challenges to earn rewards that may include the Kalspire relics.
