NOIDA: A 40-year-old man died and his wife was injured after a Thar SUV and their scooter collided in the Bisrakh police station area on Monday, police said.The deceased has been identified as Neeraj, a resident of Chipiyana village in the Bisrakh area.

According to police, the accident took place on Monday when Neeraj and his wife were travelling on a scooter. A Thar SUV was also involved in the collision.Both Neeraj and his wife sustained injuries in the accident. They were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.However, Neeraj succumbed to his injuries during treatment, while his wife continues to receive medical care.Police said the body was taken into custody and a legal proceedings were done before sending it for postmortem examination.Police have taken the Thar SUV into custody. Police said efforts were underway to trace and apprehend the driver of the vehicle, who allegedly fled after the accident.Officials said a complaint was being obtained from the victim's family, following which an FIR would be registered and further legal action taken against the accused driver.Police are also expected to examine CCTV footage from the area and gather other evidence to establish how the collision occurred and determine whether the SUV driver was driving rashly or negligently.
