Why ‘Lioness’ Star Zoe Saldaña “Can’t Imagine” Joining Another Taylor Sheridan Show

Don’t expect Zoe Saldaña to pop up in any other Taylor Sheridan shows anytime soon.

The Oscar winner, who has played CIA operative Joe McNamara in Lioness for three seasons, recently admitted to People that the Paramount+ series “is all that I can handle at this time.”

Saldaña explained that she can’t think about joining another project in Sheridan’s television universe because of the huge commitment that comes with Lioness, as star and executive producer of the spy thriller.

“I’m number one on the call sheet. I am first one in, last one out. I am prepping months before anybody ever is able to prep. So it’s already a lot of work for me,” the Avatar actress said. “I can’t imagine me taking on more of a Taylor Sheridan world.”

Saldaña’s dedication to the show seems not to have gone unnoticed by the prolific creator.

“The good takeaway that I’m grateful for is that he knows that I’m reliable, just like Joe is,” she said of what Sheridan can expect from her as an actor and producer. The Emilia Pérez actress added that the creator knows she’s “honest,” “tough as nails” and “vocal and opinionated.”

“I have my views, and I come with all heart, all brains, all muscle at all times,” Saldaña said. “So, no, I think I’m good here at Lioness.”

The Paramount+ spy thriller, which aired its season three finale earlier this month, centers on Saldaña’s Joe and her team as they navigate dangerous global conflicts and personal safety risks. Lioness also stars Nicole Kidman, Morgan Freeman, Laysla De Oliveira, Dave Annable, Jill Wagner, LaMonica Garrett, James Jordan, Austin Hébert, Jonah Wharton and Hannah Love Lanier, among others.
