Once a self-published LitRPG title, now a beloved franchise consisting of eight books and an upcoming television show, it is safe to say that Dungeon Crawler Carl is one of life's biggest success stories for its author, Matt Dinniman.

First published back in 2020, Dungeon Crawler Carl follows the story of the titular Carl, who is joined by his ex-girlfriend's cat, Princess Donut, as the two embark on a dungeon crawl as part of an intergalactic reality show program. Set in a world where an alien corporation has seized control of the Earth's resources, Carl and Princess Donut are two of just a few survivors, and so completing this crawl may just inspire hope in those who are left.
