Emilia Clarke & Josh Brolin Latest To Join Series ‘A Roadmap To Happiness’

EXCLUSIVE: Emilia Clarke and Josh Brolin are joining Jason Momoa, Shailene Woodley, Elijah Wood and Alec Baldwin in docuseries A Roadmap To Happiness, which we first announced during this year’s Sundance Film Festival.
The show will see author, podcaster and presenter Darin Olien (Down to Earth with Zac Efron) travel with actors to different corners of the world in search of the happiest people on Earth. The series will explore what constitutes happiness in different cultures and show the travelers — and viewers — different approaches to contentment.
Clarke (Game of Thrones) will join the series in Portugal, a country recorded as having some of the happiest children in the world, while Brolin (Avengers) will appear in Finland – a country consistently ranked among the happiest in the world – for the series finale.
Directed by Cary Floyd and produced by Cary Floyd, Darin Olien, Heather White Rezner, and DP Nick Higgins, the series is lining up a limited VOD release date for 3/20/2027, which is World Happiness Day. Conversations with platforms and broadcasters about other releases continue.
Of joining the series finale in Finland, Brolin commented: “We spend so much of life chasing success, answers, or the next thing but happiness is often quieter than that. Being part of this journey in Finland reminded me that connection, simplicity, and presence may be the most powerful things we have. I’m proud to be part of a project asking questions that matter.”
“After decades of traveling the world searching for answers to health, sustainability, and the challenges we face as humans, I realized something profound, happiness may be the missing piece connecting it all,” said co-host and executive producer Olien. “This series is about the people, rituals, and perspectives that remind us how to reconnect to ourselves, each other, and what truly matters.”
“People and the planet are at the heart of everything I do,” added Momoa of his work on the series. “Getting to go on this journey with Darin, a friend and warrior for the Earth, makes it even more special. We’re exploring what connects us, what sustains us, and why protecting it matters.”
“I know a lot of lives and hearts will be touched by this project, simply by how much mine was and it was laughter that renewed my faith in humanity,” noted Woodley.
