Cooking with the Stars return date officially confirmed by ITV - and it's soon

ITV has confirmed when Cooking with the Stars will return for its sixth season - and it's in a matter of weeks!

The new instalment of the kitchen show, which sees eight famous faces going head-to-head in an attempt to go from amateur cooks to restaurant-level chefs, will once again be hosted by Emma Willis and Tom Allen. Fans don't have long to wait either as the new season will premiere on Monday 5 October on ITV1 and ITVX.

As is tradition, each of the celebrities will be paired with a professional chef who will act as their mentor.

Their attempts at cooking will then be judged by other professionals, with those in the bottom two having to fight for their place to remain, creating a dish without any assistance from their mentor.

The official line-up is yet to be announced for this year, but among those rumoured to be taking part are Lesley Joseph, JB Gill, Zara McDermott, Karen Hauer and Seann Walsh.

Former EastEnders star Natalie Cassidy, who was partnered with professional chef Tony Singh, won the fifth season of the show last year.

Speaking about her experience on the show on ITV1's Lorraine following her win, Natalie said: "The whole thing was amazing. Everyone was fantastic. We had such a lovely time. Jack [Osbourne], Kelly [Hoppen and Jess [Wright] - all of them were so fun."

She added: "But the cooking for me - it was the chefs. I get very starstruck because I love food, and I know a lot of chefs. I'm a bit of a geek when it comes to restaurants and chefs, so to be surrounded by Jack Stein and Elliot Grover and all these amazing people, as well as Tony, sitting there talking to them about food, yeah, I felt like a competition winner."

Cooking with the Stars returns on Monday 5 October on ITV1 and ITVX.
