Metropolitan Police officer who called senior colleague ‘wasteman’ on social media sacked

A Metropolitan Police officer has been sacked following persistent breaches of social media regulations, according to an official statement from the force.

Pc Idominik Efeotor, who worked within the Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection Command, was sacked without notice on Monday after an accelerated misconduct hearing.

Evidence presented to the panel revealed that Mr Efeotor uploaded podcast content and social media material between 2024 and 2026 while identifying himself as a serving officer.

In a TikTok video posted in 2024, he called a senior colleague a "wasteman", while separate footage showed him discussing alleged "corruption" and "racism" within the force.

He further claimed in another recording that "discrimination across the board" existed inside the force’s Directorate of Professional Standards.

The Met did not detail in its official public statement which specific posts formed part of the misconduct hearing.

The material included “offensive, insulting and derogatory language” about police staff, the force said.

Mr Efeotor also published material that could have led to the identification of an officer who was subject to an anonymity direction, according to Scotland Yard.

He had initially declared his podcast as a business interest, but permission was later withdrawn.

But despite repeated warnings he continued to publish podcast episodes and social media content, the force said.

The panel found that his actions amounted to a breach of the standards of professional behaviour in respect of discreditable conduct, orders and instructions, authority, respect, and courtesy and confidentiality – and he was dismissed without notice.

Mr Efeotor was also banned from policing.

Commander Adam Slonecki said that Mr Efeotor had breached social media standards “on many occasions and despite repeated warnings”.

He added: “Not only does behaviour like this undermine public confidence in the Met, but it had a harmful and lasting impact on those he openly criticised, as well as the rest of his colleagues.

“There is no place in policing for anyone whose values are so far removed from what we would expect, and it is right he has been dismissed from the organisation.”
